About Us
Universal Air Service began as a vision in 1983, by owner Roy Henley, and has evolved to become the premier helicopter service provider in Florida. A passion for flying and helicopters, combined with an unwavering focus on the client, has resulted in the growth of the business to a fleet of helicopters and airplanes.

Roy started flying in the U.S. Army Flight School, graduated in 1968, and after a year in sunny Southeast Asia (Vietnam), was assigned to Fort Rucker, Alabama as a flight instructor for the remaining one and a half years spent in the Army.  He received his degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Purdue University in 1975.  Roy flew offshore for PHI as well as mountain flying in Colorado.  He is an A&P mechanic, check airman, and dual-rated pilot with 20,000+ hours logged.  Roy has performed virtually every job at every level within aviation. His experience and leadership led him to open Universal Air Service.
